Patrick L. Marinaro

Patrick Marinaro is an associate at NBP and advises clients on commercial litigation, trade secrets, breach of contract, financial fraud, and general litigation matters.

Prior to joining NBP, Patrick served on the staff of Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick as Special Assistant to the Governor’s Chief Legal Counsel.  He also worked on a series of local, state, and federal political campaigns, and for a San Francisco Bay Area based non-profit.

Performance

• Part of a team that prosecuted multiple actions on behalf of one of the largest victims groups of a $1.2 billion South Florida Ponzi scheme.
• Part of a team that defended the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in multiple cases stemming from the licensure of Medical Marijuana dispensaries under the recently enacted Medical Marijuana law.
• Part of a team that successfully defended a Massachusetts-based defense contractor for violations federal export regulations.
• Lead associate on a team that prosecuted legal malpractice claims on behalf of a Massachusetts-based medical device company.
• Part of a team prosecuting multiple actions on behalf of victims of a fraudulent pre-IPO stock transaction.

Credentials

Patrick is a 2011 graduate of Boston University School of Law and a member of the Massachusetts Bar. While at BUSL, Patrick was awarded the Best Brief in the Edward C. Stone Moot Court Competition, and selected to represent BUSL at the 2011 Sutherland Cup Competition, a competition which he and his teammates won and were awarded Best Brief. He also worked as a research assistant for visiting professor Elizabeth Nowicki, and as a clinician in the American Legislative Practice Clinic. During law school, Patrick interned for Magistrate Judge Leo T. Sorokin and the United States Attorney’s Office, Civil Division.

Patrick received his B.A. in Political Science from Trinity College, where he was a member of the Pi Gamma Mu Honor Society, an editor on the student newspaper, and a member of the football team.

Professional Activities/Affiliations

Patrick has been admitted to practice in the court of Massachusetts and the U.S. District Court of Massachusetts. He has appeared in Boston Municipal Court and in federal bankruptcy proceedings in Massachusetts.  He has also worked on cases in Massachusetts, Florida, and California.
