Raquel joined NBP as an associate in 2021 and represents clients in a wide variety of litigation matters. Prior to her time with the firm, Raquel worked for eight years as an Assistant District Attorney in Middlesex County, where she handled high-level felonies from investigation through trial. Throughout her time as a prosecutor, Raquel honed her skills in the courtroom as well as a practical, goal-oriented approach to advocacy that she now brings to her work at NBP.
Performance
- Tried over 70 jury trials in Massachusetts at both the District Court and Superior Court levels.
- Obtained a conviction under the new Massachusetts human trafficking statute after trial involving sophisticated presentation of electronic data obtained using multiple search warrants.
- Obtained a conviction against getaway driver in armed robbery under joint venture theory at trial; guilty verdict ultimately led to multiple members of robbery crew in two different counties pleading guilty in a large coordinated plea deal.
- Successfully defended three of her trial verdicts at the appellate level, including two oral arguments before the Court of Appeals.
Credentials
Raquel graduated magna cum laude in 2012 from Washington University in St. Louis School of Law, where she received a Scholars in Law scholarship and was an Executive Editor of the Law Review. She graduated from Princeton University in 2006 with a concentration in philosophy and a certificate in German.
